Invitation - The Nordic Ergonomic Society Student Award 2007
Every year, the Nordic Ergonomic Society holds a competition to provide an incentive for Student Works within the field of Ergonomics. The winning student work receives the prestigious Nordic Ergonomic Society Student Award, and is presented by the award-winner(s) at the annual NES Conference. The Society would especially like to encourage entries that reflect this year's theme, "Ergonomics for a Future", and the conferende concept of "Design for all Senses".
The following requirements must be fulfilled to be eligible to compete:
A report of the examination work must be approved within the period 01.01.2006- 01.06.2007 from a Nordic higher education school, University or other post-secondary school education.
The work may not be a licentiate or doctor dissertation.
The report language must be Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Finnish or English. Irrespective of the main language, an English summary (abstract) of about 400-800 words must be included.
The work may be carried out by one or several students.
Since the society aims to encourage newcomers to the field of ergonomics, only students below the age of 35 years qualify for the Student award.
The complete report of the examination work must be sent in 2 copies together with an English summary and a short statement of motivation from the proposer (the supervisor/responsible researcher or the student) in 6 copies to the NES 2007 Conference Secretariat, c/o Anna-Lisa Osvalder, Chalmers University of Technology, SE-412 96 Göteborg, Sweden. It is also possible to send the material by e-mail, in PDF-format to: nes2007-info@chalmers.se
A jury with participants from all Nordic Countries will be judging the examination work as a professional evaluation with regards to the educational level. The decision of the jury can not be brought before a court of law.
The award-winner receives a diploma and a one year membership in the relevant national ergonomic society. The winning contestant (or, if there are several award winners, one representative from the group) gets a free participation (conference fee incl. board and lodging in addition to travel expenses the cheapest way) in the NES-conference 1-3.10.2007 in Lingatan/Lysekil, Sweden.
Furthermore, the award-winner is expected to present the work at the conference during a 20-minute presentation.
The contribution should be sent to the Scientific Secretariat no later than 30.6.2007. If you have any questions please contact the NES2007 Secretariat or the head of the Award Committee.
